I started thinking of how to develop idea #3 and looked at references for including other colors with black and white. This led me to look at silhouette, with this one in particular striking my interest.
The silhouettes and the splatters and the brush style gives the image an energetic feel to me. I like this feeling, and visually it looks cool. I could possibly develop in this direction.
UPDATE: I have an idea. What if I mix idea #3 and idea #2? I could develop in the direction above but... also have the silhouettes of the characters be collage-like. By this I mean like include small subtle patterns/objects/images inside it. Perhaps I can incorporate the trivia pursuit image in this idea.
As far as symbolism and meaning goes, I somewhat have an idea of creating an idea of progress, or like a timeline of myself through the characters. Different colors and different poses of the characters refer to different points in time in life. I would need to think about the composition more though so I will look for references.
similar but alternate styles for the direction? I am feeling a graffiti vibe but the colors are very saturated and vibrant. They pop!
UPDATE II: I found images of the composition idea I was looking for.
Something about these character select screens which showcase more of the body rather than selection through character portraits appeal to me, moreso for this idea of mine.
Here is a possible development I could follow, showing half/partial portions of the body and in a clean and readable layout. I would need to do a lot of thumbnailing and testing to see if I can do this idea of mine.
UPDATE III: I have been doing research for the essay, looking up resources to support the concepts and ideas that I plan to incorporate into the actual artefact. I have found a resource linking to MBTI types and I think I can incorporate that somehow into my work. I do have the feeling that I might be complicating the relationship between my influences and my purpose behind my story and artefact, so I will try to keep a clear idea in my head.
