After I prepared all the materials for the Capstone Pitch on Wednesday, I noticed how I chose the art style (perhaps aesthetic?) of my work but haven’t shown any examples that actually incorporate my two inspirations. So I will be looking at a work that has a thin but sharp line art, and also uses a brush-like art style. My first search in this area is:
“Gildedguy & the Rock Hard Gladiator - Story #7”
This case study is useful not only for its aesthetic but also as an example of animating fast-paced dynamic scenes, carrying a feeling of high energy through the visuals and the music.
I can use this as a reference to look back to, seeing how they let some action sequences be timed and spaced so that it is still readable and followable to audience, while ALSO being in sync with the music.
Whether or not I will have the animation adapt to the music or vice versa is a separate matter to be considered for later.
