Monday (THEORY): In the lecture, we took a look at literature reviews and context reviews, leading into annotations in our capstone- what they are and why they are relevant to our capstone. This becomes relevant later on, as explained in the tutorial.
In the tutorial, we looked at annotation examples and how they are structured, and were given time to start looking into creating an actual annotation for our current capstone so far out out of the research we’ve gathered. I had a lot of difficulty with this during the class as it turned out that I couldn’t pinpoint a key source that identifies an area of reference I wish to incorporate in my capstone- I reference features across a lot of media. It also became apparent that my current research progress is not so clearly defined. By this I mean that it is difficult to convey what I wish to research, and this fact in itself is concerning.
So I will look into reworking/updating my research once again… after I finish the treatments for my ideas for the check up on Wednesday.

Ashley, our TA, recommended that I look into the creative media annotation first if I am struggling with the theoretical annotations. While this did make it easier, it only showed how there is a lot more for me to work on. I mean, I did find a reference but I am now questioning and trying to refine my sources a lot more now; have good vision and communication of my research question that would inform my work so far.
notes
Wednesday (STUDIO): In the first class, Lesley gave me feedback on my current treatments, and what my plans are on exploring and developing my idea(s) further. Currently, my thoughts are writing the intro and ending for my ideas as “treatments”; the main part, the climax, would be omitted in writing (since it would be writing a lot to describe action and combat scenes) so I think doing so visually through thumbnails instead would be a good way to visually communicate how it would go. Lesley also recommended me to consider outline boards instead of planning to do animatic for all six of my treatments so that I don’t get burnt out. I also agree too since I currently don’t lean towards any particular idea at the moment, and hoped that doing up to the animatics would enlighten me later on.
In the second class, Lesley explained about the process behind outline boards AND the storyboards. It was helpful and also gave me a lot to think about. I would go with Lesley’s suggestion, and also need to explore doing the art style that I want for the storyboards. Lesley was also doing another round of one-on-ones with everyone. She didn’t get to me which was fine since I haven’t done much since then; I plan to work a lot later.
Today especially proved very helpful for me. Today we went in pairs to review each other’s treatments and I got Ethan. He gave a lot of constructive and objective feedback which I appreciate a lot. He also helped me understand how to improve my research direction- It turned out that I was overcomplicating myself with my thoughts earlier, and looking back on it now once I explained it to him it felt like it was more communicable than before. So I will working on a lot of stuff haha!

Recommends looking at an outline board rather than doing animatics for all five treatments (ideally only one idea is chosen so only one animatic later on)
Look at exploring ideal art style
Finish treatments, outline boards (and start on storyboards if possible)
Do concept art and colour moodboards
Update Research
