Trying to work on post production color grating. I forgot how I did it previously
Exploring it in premiere pro
Found there is a lot of stylize effects
“Brush strokes”
“Find edges” does a cool effect
“Lighting effects” in the Adjust
Using lighting to create an environmental mood is hard. It is easier to create a daytime or light effect, but hard or even impossible (in my current state) to create subtle shifts of mood.
Test Pics
Finished blocking.
Update: did linear and spline/polish for some scenes. Some more elements need to be animated and timed correctly, and further polished afterwards.
This is still considered as part of the block-polish pass; the tie-down pass is when I will draw elements related to the character (at least that is my current approach to the work). I am feeling tired and worried about my current pace. I understand that significant work can’t be achieved solely within any singular day, and that I have done a lot so far today, but I am falling behind on my intended deadlines, which will give me more pressure towards other matters and assignments that I need to worry about as well.
I am in the process o rendering the rough pass animation of all the scenes so far, and remembered that I am missing a few integral scenes.
I have positioned the camera for scene 2 and saved the rendered image. I only need to animate the needed actions on it later in Krita.
Scene 5 is difficult considering I planned to create a separate 3D environment so as to present a university area to the audience while showing the star in the sky. I haven’t made it yet, much less designed the environment. This worries me greatly
Scene 21b after the cool paper swirl sequence (21a) needs to be set in After Effects, and drawn with the character in it (21c). And figure out the planned transition to scene 22
Scene 29 camera is positioned, and I saved the rendered image. I just need to draw the cool effect. And figure out how to do the star close (possibly in after effects?)
Scene 28 is difficult since I need to figure out what the cool final piece of art at the end is. And also adjust the camera accordingly.
After effects experimentation
Made gears and animated their rotation
Made stars - 4 pointed and 5 pointed
Fiddled with creating a sort of star mask to create the steven universe star closing shot
Work in progress. I made the star mask but I don’t think I can animate the mask itself. A solution to this is to possibly make the mask small and increase the scale of the solid layer until the star mask is out of frame. I would then rotate the solid layer while lowering the scale value.
This is my approach since I don’t know any way to constantly fill the layer or make it not have any ‘gaps’ as I rotate the layer.
I have found these links in the hopes of possibly incorporating them as the environment for the middle sequence of my animation.
