In class, we were tasked to create a mood board that describes our character(s) that we would use in our work.
Character Mood board
This mood board of mine was done in mind with the idea of light-hearted chaos. The characters would be wacky, expressive, and reactive in an exaggerated and comedic manner, usually through physical actions. There would be a difference to slapstick comedy as there be a slightly more serious and focused tone in combat.
As such, this mood board helps my storytelling elements by describing examples to refer to when animating the characters’ actions and personality.
[Analysis and Reflection]
Example # 1: "NOW YOU SEEM ME" (2013) & "NOW YOU SEE ME 2" (2016)

I find this as an example of capturing interest through action and, most importantly, concept. Is this genre perhaps called thriller?
The use of street 'magic' is somehow fascinating to watch, from beginning to end. The movie kept me hooked all throughout, making me curious about the result and the process. The movement of the camera, the pacing, and the music all contributes to make the actual scenes more lively, more dynamic (when needed)
Reminds me of the phantom thief from Detective Conan (manga/anime), who also uses magic tricks to steal objects.
