I had the opportunity to attend an event with guest speaker Mark Flanagan, and he had a great talk covering aspects about the production pipeline, such as animation, 3D lighting, vfx, etc. It was an interesting talk as there were some surprisingly useful, technical tips in there. One of them was on rendering and how various effects are layered(?) on top of each in post(?) production, though I am still unsure of the exact process involved- if layering multiple effects won’t superimpose over each other, and could actually ‘blend’ together. Perhaps I could do more research in this regard for refinement and lighting in post.
On tuesday’s class, I spent the time experimenting on creating simulation effects in maya and have achieved some degree of success.
