Finishing concept art, I finished drawing a character sheet for reference and am working on modelling 3D assets that I would use.
I had a bit of trouble in this area as I still haven’t planned/explored possible layouts of the room along with the placement of other furniture such as cabinets and drawers. In the end, I have somewhat of a layout but maybe I will do the exploration in the holiday, along with other work that I didn’t have time to further improve in order to meet the submission deadline for the Preproduction package.
Playing around with lighting and the aiToon shader was fun and it gave me with a lot of cool render images. I am still unsure what I want with my 3D visuals but for now this is a good start.
I also had the opportunity to play around a bit with some simulations that I could include in my work. I started on a rope net mesh that would be placed under the mattress and would fall under gravity. This is to give the bed a more iconic design that tells the audience of a university room. I based this idea off of Monsters University (movie). I also have done ‘crumple’ simulations to make a crumpled paper ball with partial success.
